Manitowoc County EMS Association Meeting Minutes 9/25/2024
Host: Mishicot Area Ambulance
The 9/25/2024 meeting of the Manitowoc County EMS Association was called to order at 1905 by the president. The meeting is held in person and virtually. The educational portion of the meeting was deferred until the next meeting as the presenter had a scheduling conflict. Roll call taken. A quorum was present. The secretary was excused.
Secretary’s Report: The Secretary’s report was presented as printed and a motion to accept the report as written was made by Francis Creek and seconded by Mishicot.
Treasurer’s Report: Ending Balances: Checking: $2935.17. Savings: $6014.36. A motion was made to accept the report as presented by Branch and seconded by Reedsville. Motion was carried.
Old Business:
1. Contact List: The contact list updates were passed around. Items may be sent to the webmaster for other updates. This includes email addresses, phone number, & contact information.
2. Committee Reports:

Emergency Government/Dispatch/Radio: Rhonda is in Stevens
Point and did not submit a report.
A letter about the tabletop was shared. JDC is fully staffed with 2
in training and 2 on maternity leave.
They are looking for one more part-time position.
3. Manitowoc County Sheriff Department: no report
4. Protocols: Are in process with Dr. Sarah working on them
5. Disaster/Training: see above
6. RTF: Mishicot reported on the drill and stated it was very good and educational. Branch reported that the dispatchers were there, which was great. Ryan Menges said that while the training was very good there is still a lot we can learn and improve on for the future.
7. Education/Training: Follow the website, HERC, & RTAC emails for educational opportunities. Many seminars via HERC are coming up.
8. Medical Directors: No formal report.
9. MABAS: They are working on EMABAS.
10. NEW RTAC/HERC: Meetings coming up. Can go in person or online. See web sites for grants and updates.
11. Lakeshore Technical College: Name change coming to Lakeshore College.
12. By-laws: Discussion on making some changes to the bylaws to include every two years voted on, the vice president not having to move into the president position, and VP elected on even years, president, secretary, and treasurer elected on odd years. Also, discussion on paying the positions of president $50 annually, vice president $50, secretary and treasurer $150 annually. A committee was formed officially with Chair Amy Kohlmann, Curt Biely, and John Biely. Further discussion was had, and they will look at it being adopted at the next meeting in Newton, which is the annual meeting.
New Business:
1. Nominating Committee: A nominating committee was formed to find candidates for the offices of Vice President and Secretary. The vice president and secretary will be voted on in the even years and president and treasurer on the odd years. The committee volunteers are Amy Kohlmann, Curt Biely, and John Biely.
2. Next meeting: Discussion of the next meeting date in November. A motion was made by St. Nazianz and a second by Reedsville to change the next meeting from November 27 in Newton to December 4 at Newton. Motion carried.
3. Events: Free pancake and porky breakfast Oct. 13 at Two Creeks.
4. Manitowoc Rapids Fire/EMS: Officially there will be no changes at this time.
5. Next meeting: December 4, 2024 in Newton at 7:00 p.m.
A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Mishicot and seconded by Reedsville. The meeting was adjourned at 1940.
