Manitowoc County EMS Association Meeting Minutes 5-19-15
Host: Mishicot EMS @ Aurora Two Rivers
The May 2015 meeting of the Manitowoc County EMS Association was called to order at 1900. The educational speakers were as follows: Dr. Tahir and Dr. Napier. They spoke on strokes and hyperbaric care and EMS interaction on both.
The meeting was resumed after education. Roll call was taken. A quorum was present.
The secretary’s report was skipped at this meeting.
The treasurer’s report was given and ending balances were given as follows:
Checking: $2113.60
Savings: $5010.55
A motion was made by Two Rivers to accept the treasurer’s report as presented and Newton seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Old Business:
1. Contact numbers: Passed for updates.
2. Committee reports:
a. Radio: By 2018 UHF. Discussion of the “I am responding” program.
b. Medical Directors: Nothing
c. Protocols: n/a
d. Finance: n/a
e. Disaster: Cleveland would like to host a table top in fall; perhaps at LTC.
f. Education and training: There will be some seminars coming this fall on suicide and also on drugs in Manitowoc County. More information coming when available.
g. LTC: Has a new flyer out and St. Nazianz is hosting a refresher on Wednesdays.
h. Dispatch: Two new hires again.
i. Website: Mark Knier will continue to be our webmaster.
j. JDC: the 911 system will be upgraded to receive texts. They are working on a group email from JDC. The pre-alert call out for county EMS calls is not happening. MABAS training for dispatch is coming again.
3. Tele communicators Week: Baskets went very well and were liked.
4. EMS Week Celebration: Had a very good crowd and helicopters! Thanks to all who helped.
New Business
1. Next meeting: at Newton 7/22/15.
2. County Fair: MFD will take help. Contact Todd Blaser if interested in helping. 8/25/15 – 8/31/15.
3. RTAC: Made some by-law changes. EMS Active shooter is an emphasis.
A motion to adjourn was made by Silver Creek and seconded by Newton.
