The meeting was resumed.  Roll call was taken.  A quorum was present.

The secretary’s report was distributed and copies given.   A motion to accept the July secretary’s report as written was made by Newton and seconded by Kiel with amendment of Kiel and Valders to the agencies present.  The May secretaries report was also distributed and a motion to accept that was made by Newton and seconded by Kiel.  Both reports were approved.

Old Business:

1.       Contact numbers:  Passed for updates.

2.       Committee reports:

a.       Radio:  Nothing new at this time.  There was discussion on what channel to use if the main frequency goes down.

b.       Medical Directors:  Dr. Martens reported the state medical director’s position is on hold to rewrite the job description.

c.       Protocols:  We are looking to do a reprint soon of protocol books.  First Responders can use narcan if they follow the protocol from the state and fill out all of the papers.

d.       Finance:  Mark Knier is working on our tax exempt status.

e.       Disaster:  Silver Creek hosted the drill and it went well.  Thanks were shared for them to take on the project.  Discussion on ideas of who/what to do for 2015.  Thanks also to Bill Manis and Dr. Nelson for helping critique the drill and make it a success.

f.        Education and training:  More discussion on SALT or START.  Either is actually correct.  Dr. Nelson reported that the state no longer requires the every 6 month defib training and as the first responders’ medical director, he is not going to require it.  However, he still strongly suggests that units do some type of education every 6 months in their own units as this is a vital skill to know well and be able to perform correctly.

g.       LTC:  No report

h.       Dispatch:  More hires/people leaving.  Hoping to be fully staffed with a stable staff soon.
