New Business
--all notifications of deaths at any scene occur via the coroner’s office and the police; never from EMS people calling anyone
---no pictures of death scenes are to be taken on personal cell phones. Pictures of any calls may not be posted on social media or shared in any context other than direct patient care. If possible leave any picture taking for the coroner or police.
---Using a personal cell phone at a call is not encouraged. Step away from the scene if absolutely necessary to use your phone. Pictures or passing of confidential information from the crime scene may result in legal charges against people.
---Limit the number of people who enter a scene with obvious crime or death issues in it. Less is better. Document who was in and specifically did what at these scenes.
--Remember there are very specific policies on crime scenes, pictures, and confidentiality in our Manitowoc County protocols which each agency is accountable for.
