Manitowoc County EMS Association Meeting Minutes                           9/28/11

The September 2011 meeting of the Manitowoc County EMS Association was called to order at 1900 by President Knier.  The educational speaker was Chief William Manis speaking on the Manitowoc County Disaster Plan; roles, responsibilities.  Time 1900-2000

 

The meeting was then resumed.  Roll call was taken.  A quorum was present.  The secretary’s report was distributed and copies given.  A motion was made to accept the secretary’s report written was made by St. Nazianz and seconded by Cleveland.  Motion carried.    

 

The treasurer’s report was submitted and ending balances were given as follows:

Checking:         $1501.69                       New CD Balance:  $5166.95

Savings:           $1457.53                       Six agencies have outstanding dues for 2011:  they are Kiel, Maribel, Reedsville, Silver Creek, and Two Creeks.   A motion was made by Mishicot to accept the treasurer’s report as presented and Reedsville seconded it.  Motion carried.   

 

Old Business: 

1.       Contact numbers:  Passed for updates. 

2.       Committee reports:

a.       Radio:  Nothing right now

b.       Medical Director:  Working with committee to review and update protocols.

c.       Protocols:  Committee continues to work. Meeting at Valders at 8:00 am on 10/14/11. 

d.       Finance:  The tax ID # will be worked into this area.  Mark to work with Tom.  Ongoing!

e.       Disaster:  Mishicot to host this fall's 2011 disaster---Saturday, Nov. 3. Anyone needing disaster tags is urged to contact the board.

f.        Education and training:  Autism seminar being sponsored by County EMS Saturday, Oct. 8 at Holiday Inn will be excellent.  Brochures available.  Can register on line.

g.      LTC:  Nothing new

h.      DispatchReminder to be slow, clear and patient when using the radio.  Be sure to wait for and receive an acknowledgement of your radio traffic and identify yourself clearly.  The date to move into the new JDC center has been moved back to possibly December. 

i.        Mutual Aid Agreements:  One remains outstanding yet.

j.        County Fair:  Chief Manis thanked everyone who assisted in providing first aid at the county fair.  They will try to do this again next year getting a schedule out much earlier and also perhaps having it on line also with the website.

k.       Website:  Our Manitowoc County EMS website has a blog on it if you want to use it.  

 

New Business

  1. Next meeting:  11/16/2011 at Francis Creek
  2. Nominating Committee:    Nominations were presented for the position of vice president with Theresa Diegel from Mishicot and Kyle Christiansen from Valders nominated and accepting nominations.  Nominations remain open.   Nominations were presented for the position of treasurer and Tom Krajnik from Mishicot was nominated and accepted.  Nominations will remain open there also. 
  3. Meeting Date:  Discussion of changing the date due to conflicts but the group decided to just keep the so designated dates.

 

A motion to adjourn was made by Manitowoc and Reedsville seconded.  Meeting adjourned.
