Manitowoc County EMS Association Meeting Minutes                           5/25/11

Host:  Branch First Responders

The May 2011 meeting of the Manitowoc County EMS Association was called to order at 1900 by President Knier.  The educational speaker was Asst. Chief Todd Blaser from the City of Manitowoc speaking in MABAS in Manitowoc County & EMS.  1900-2000. 

Roll call was taken.  A quorum was present.

The secretary’s report was distributed and copies given.  A motion was made to accept the secretary’s report as written was made by Cleveland and seconded by Two Rivers.  Report accepted.    

The treasurer’s report was submitted and ending balances were given as follows:

Checking:         $2185.95                       New CD Balance:  $5166.95

Savings:           $1457.05                      

 A motion was made by Cleveland to accept the treasurer’s report as presented and Valders seconded it.  Motion carried.   

Old Business: 

1.       Contact numbers:  Passed for updates. 

2.       Committee reports:

a.       Radio:  Now looking at being in the new building by 2/9/2012.  They are going to hire a new dispatcher.  Lori Klosterman just had her 25 year anniversary.  Cake from JDC to the County EMS was brought to the meeting for us in honor of EMS week. 

b.        Medical Director:  No protocol changes right now.

c.       Protocols:  Met in Valders and are working on some changes.  CCR is officially an approved protocol.

d.       Finance:  The tax ID # will be worked into this area.  Mark to work with Tom.

e.       Disaster:  Ongoing

f.        Education and training:  Ongoing.  Discussion of local speakers, Bob Page, or Hurst.

g.       LTC:  Has an EVOC class in July.  Classes are going on at Point Beach and Francis Creek

h.      Dispatch:  See radio.  Jay gave a briefing on radios and pagers and replacing them.  Discussion that we need a recommendation from this group to have a specific EMS channel.  This letter needs to be sent to all the appropriate people.  Manis to work on with Knier.    Group is definitely in favor of this.

i.        Mutual Aid Agreements:  Still waiting on some.  Please push!

 New Business

1. Next meeting:  7/27/2011 at Cleveland
2. County Fair:  Manitowoc is asking for help with the EMS booth at the Fair.  All county EMS are welcome to help.

A motion to adjourn was made by Two Rivers and Branch seconded.  Meeting adjourned.

Next meeting is July 27, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at Cleveland
