Manitowoc County EMS Association Meeting Minutes                           3/30/11

Host:  Viking Rescue/ Maribel

 

The March 2011 meeting of the Manitowoc County EMS Association was called to order at 1900 by President Knier.  The educational speaker was Lt. Shaun Stammes from Eagle III. 1900-2000. 

Note:  Meeting was rescheduled from a week prior when there was a snow storm.

 

Roll call was taken.  A quorum was present.

The secretary’s report was distributed and copies given.  A motion was made to accept the secretary’s report as written was made by Kellnersville and seconded by St. Nazianz.  Report accepted.    

 

The treasurer’s report was given and ending balances were given as follows:

Checking:         $2141.16                       New CD Balance:  $5146.33

Savings:           $1456.70                       Note:  All 2010 dues are in except for Silver Creek.

                                                            2011 Dues statements are out tonight    

 A motion was made by St. Nazianz to accept the treasurer’s report as presented and Viking seconded it.  Motion carried. 

 

Old Business: 

1.       Contact numbers:  Passed for updates. 

2.       Committee reports:

a.       Radio:  Jeff Beyer stopped late in the meeting to give an update and states that the radio system should be operational by November 1 100% functional. 

b.        Medical Director:  Nothing today. 

c.       Protocols:  Committee to meet and rework protocols.  Meeting:  4/5/11 at Valders.

d.       Finance:  The tax ID # will be worked into this area.  Mark to work with Tom.

e.       Disaster:  To meet and finish the update the plan again.  Mishicot to host the 2011 disaster.  We did get some reimbursement from Emergency Government for the drill costs.  They will be dispersed soon. 

f.        Education and training:  Seminar was in March and it sent well.  It cost the association $300 about.  It was well attended.  The next conference will be set back into October and kept on that schedule. 

g.       Dispatch:  Steering committee presented an algorhythm for the dispatchers to follow which will cover our submitted letters regarding some difficulties with dispatches, documentation of portables on scene.  The algorhythm was approved and sent to the steering committee in care of Todd Blaser.  A motion by Francis Creek and second by Kellnersville made this official.  Lori will be retiring and dispatch will be hiring one new person.

3.       By-laws:  Ongoing.  Committee:   Siehr, Holschbach, Knier, Busse.

4.       Mutual Aid Agreement:    Still waiting on Francis Creek, Kiel, Manitowoc, St. Nazianz, Valders and Viking.  Please get this done yet this year! 

 

New Business

  1. Next meeting:  5/25/2011hosted by Branch
  2. County Fair:  Manitowoc did not bring up
  3. WARDS:  Mark made reference to a memo from the state which states first responders are to be entering reports into WARDS whenever advanced skills are done.  Not many people know about this.
  4. Telecommunications Week:  Coming up 4/10 to 4/16.  Discussion on again sending the baskets we usually do.  Motion by Mishicot and second by Francis Creek to again to do this.  Holschbach to coordinate.
  5. County EMS Week:  Mark Knier again spoke about the EMS week celebration at Copps and invited everyone to attend.  10-2. 

 

 

A motion to adjourn was made by St. Nazianz and Kellnersville seconded.  Meeting adjourned.
